Streaming past

Twin ribbons

Running together

Forever apart.

Shiny on contact

Dull underneath

A run monotonous

Through land indifferent.

Miles together

Tied by ties

Occasional merges

Till paths diverge.

Around unforeseen curves

And in lines straight and sure

Together yet apart

Tied by ties till the end.
