WHY IS THE DEAL NOT COMING THRO?
Published on September 5th, 2008 In Quiz/Survey |  Views 132

Like so many netizens in India, I am wondering what is holding up the India - US Nuclear deal at Vienna. I am enumerating the possible causes as given by various people-

As per CNN- IBN  Team - China playing a double game , influencing Austria and New Zealand!  ( I guess if the deal finally fails they will point their fingers at Prakash Karat and the Left for influencing China!)

As per Times Now - Two nations who dont supply anything nuclear are holding up the treaty!

If you ask me - The Govt made a big mistake in not sending its best trouble shooter-the incomparable AMAR SINGH. He would have convinced all the brothers and sisters there.

Well I would like to know your pet culprit, so do write in.

It is because of Left’s objection that we got what we wanted without any conditions. Otherwise it would have been a walkover for the NSG. The Govt did a good job of protecting India’s interest because of the Left- Right pressure. And in any case The US has a done a good job of putting a show of a hard battle well fought. Now surely India is Indebted To This Great Nation which fought off POWERFUL NUCLEAR NATIONS- New Zealand, Austria and Ireland for 3 days and even took care of China which dared to open its mouth towards the end.

Well I am glad NSG is thro. Now even if US Congress doesnot pass the deal, There are others who will do business. If the Govt has not given away too much, they deserve all the best wishes for a job well done.
